CHAM Victor Bama, Publisher of Municipal Update and Chronicle Times newspapers has been elected president of Menchum Journalist Union ( MEJU).
Meeting in Yaounde on Friday, November 19, 2021, the members of the union unanimously voted the young dynamic publisher of Municipal Update one of Cameroon's most-read English newspapers as their president.
Speaking shortly after his election, Cham Victor Baptise his mandate as a "New Era of peace".
According to him, it is time to build while using instruments of peace, given the uncertainty in the present era.
"For me the most important vision now is peace, we have to work together and build peace within the communities of Menchum and beyond using our voices," CHAM Victor said.
The native of Weh village in Fungom Subdivision, Menchum Division, says his wish is to see that other Divisions within the North West Region copy the initiative of MEJU so that in their respective areas, they can act as vectors of peace.
The newly elected President has a mission to positively transform the mindset of the communities through the members of the Union who are better placed to communicate to their respective communities.

The Menchum Journalists Union was created in 2015 to bring together Journalists from the Menchum Division, North West Region of Cameroon.
The Union welcomes members who trace their origin back to Menchum, have worked/practiced, or have lived in Menchum for one reason or another.
