Bamenda: Minister Mounouna Foutsou hands support to beneficiaries of three year youth plan





Following the three year presidential plan to support youths, launched by the President of the Republic in 2016, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education Mr Mounouna Foutsou has visited the North West region to hand over the gift to some youths, Saturday November 14, 2020.

While visiting the Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration Center in the North West region,  the minister expressed satisfaction and reassured his support to the ex-combatants. 

"With the presentation of the DDR center I have hope that the future and the aim of the Ex fighters is guaranteed. I want to say that the minister of youth affairs is the father of all the youths and I want to assure you of our partnership. I have one message to the DDR Center today which is to be patrotic and believe in your country. I also urge you to be peace ambassadors and call on your peers to leave the bushes and join the center."

He then added that the centre is for the socio-economic empowerment of the society and for youths in particular and went ahead to inugurate the poultry farm at the DDR center.

"Youths should use this center to prepare themselves for their eventual reintegration and when they are ready, they will be set free."

Some Entrepreneur youth were then awarded the  gift by the minister which included cash prices, farm tools, motor bikes and others. 


According to Minister Mounouna Foutsou, "The youths have shown great evidence and are now ready to carry out their respective projects. You should overcome every difficulties you may encounter along the way. Get to work because very soon you will be called upon to repay the loan so that others can benefit."

This is the 9th region the minister is visiting to hand over support to beneficiaries of the three year plan. 

In reaction to this, the general cry of the youths remain the insecurity in the region.
