His Lordship Michael Bibi, the Bishop of Buea, has donated 2 million francs to support the Bokwaongo Membea transformer acquisition project initiated by His Majesty Albert Njie Mbonde, the 5th Monarch of the village.

This generous contribution was announced during a courtesy visit by the Bishop to the palace, where he also extended an invitation to the traditional ruler to participate in activities marking his 25 years in the priesthood.

The monarch, who coincidentally is also celebrating his 25th year of service with the state broadcaster CRTV, has been at the forefront of efforts to address the persistent power outages that have plagued the village for over a year. The transformers acquisition project aims to provide a lasting solution to this challenge, and the Bishop's donation is a significant boost to the initiative.

The project has already garnered support from several personalities, including Dabuju Evakise, a former critic of the monarch, who has pledged 300,000 francs, and Wawa Penda, promoter of Groove Entertainment and cousin to the Chief, who has pledged 200,000 francs.

Chief Albert Njie Mbonde launched the fund drive with a contribution of 500,000 francs during the installation of the Bokwaongo Membea traditional council and council of elders.

This remarkable display of collaboration and generosity is a testament to the power of unity and collective effort in driving progress and development. As the village works towards acquiring the transformer, the people of Bokwaongo can look forward to a brighter future.

Both Chief Albert Njie Mbonde and His Lordship Michael Bibi pledged to attain festivities marking their 25th anniversaries.
