The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute will commission the first ever modern playground in Bamenda on Saturday 6th July 2025.

Located at Ntaafi in the Bamenda I subdivision, the proximity stadium is seen as a jewel to the football loving population of the North West.

The Ntaafi proximity stadium constructed with funds from the Presidential Plan for Reconstruction and Development (PPRD) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), will host Elite one, Elite Two and Amateur matches in the region.

The reserved bench on site

For four years now, Elite Clubs in the North West Region have been plying their traits in stadia in neighbouring towns like Bafoussam and Mbouda, losing on gate takings and being on the road even to play home matches.

This very frustrating scenario has not only affected the clubs financially, but the football loving population of the region has been deprived of Elite one football for years.

Constructed on the former PS Ntaafi school field, the proximity stadium has a dressing room, a Tribune, a parking lot, an access road, a fence and a synthetic turf with is of international dimension.

Schools, roads, bridges, water points, markets, support to the vulnerable population, start-ups are some key areas where the PPRD has carried out enormous work whose evaluation will be done in Bamenda on Friday 4th July 2025.
