HRH Fon Abumbi II has thrown his weight behind the Bafut Council's efforts to improve road infrastructure in the area.

The Fon appreciated the arrival of a new grader at the offloading site at Up Station and praised the council's commitment to providing better roads for the community.

"I am impressed by the council's recent investments, including the acquisition of a grader as well as a dump truck in 2024 and a smaller dump truck for waste transportation," Fon Abumbi II said.

"These efforts demonstrate their focus on improving the overall quality of life for Bafut residents."

The Fon's endorsement is significant, given the importance of good roads to the local economy, particularly in the agricultural sector.

"Good roads are crucial for our agricultural sector, which is the backbone of our economy," he emphasized. "By investing in our infrastructure, we're not only improving transportation but also enhancing economic opportunities for our people."

The grader

Fon Abumbi II plans to receive the grader in Bafut in a grand event and style, reiterating the council's slogan: "No to Bad Roads in Bafut, Yes to good farm to Market Roads."

The Bafut Council, led by Mayor Ngwakongoh Lawrence, has been working tirelessly to improve infrastructure in the area. The acquisition of the new grader is a step towards completing the equipment pool of the council, and the Fon's endorsement is expected to boost the council's efforts.

The collaboration between the Fon and the council will bring positive development to the Fondom.
