Construction works have resumed at the Bamenda Proximity Stadium located in Ntaafi, Bamenda I subdivision.
The final works consisting of implanting the artificial turf and concreting the exterior of the pitch have started.
According to the Mayor of Bamenda I Council, Mbigha Felix, the works will be complete without further delay and be put at the disposal of the population of the North West.
"In a multi stakeholder meeting held a few days ago, the contractor assured us that the turf is here. It has arrived in Bamenda and works have resumed. He has disclosed that he will complete the works in the weeks ahead." Mayor Mbigha said.
The population of Bamenda has been waiting for the completion of the said stadium to start hosting Elite one matches in Bamenda.
It will also be a source of revenue generation for clubs who compete at the different levels of Cameroonian football.
The contract which was initially supposed to last for six months now counts three years.
