The people of Bokwaongo in Buea Subdivision are benefiting from a special free medical campaign organised by the Buea Military Hospital at the Bokwaongo Integrated Health Centre.
The campaign, which is running from August 17 to 22, 2026, has recorded strong participation since its launch, with people turning out to benefit from medical consultations and other health services.
The initiative was officially opened by the Commander of the 2nd Joint Military Region, Brigadier General Ngolo Ngomba, in the presence of the Chief of the 2nd Military Health Region, Colonel Professor Koki Godefroy, and the traditional ruler of Bokwaongo, HRM Albert Njie Mbonde.
Organised within the framework of civil-military cooperation, the campaign seeks to bring healthcare closer to the population, particularly vulnerable members of the community who may face difficulties accessing medical services.
The exercise includes medical consultations, disease prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and health education. Health personnel are also using the opportunity to sensitise the people on the importance of seeking medical attention early and adopting practices that can help prevent illnesses.
The campaign reflects efforts by the military health services to strengthen their relationship with civilian communities while contributing to the wellbeing of the population.
For the people of Bokwaongo, the week-long exercise offers an opportunity to receive medical attention and health advice closer to home.
As the campaign enters its final days, more people are expected to take advantage of the free health services before the exercise ends on August 22, 2026.
