Bamenda Urban Crossing Project Makes Good Progress

Work on the Bamenda Urban Crossing Project is moving forward steadily, nearly nine months after construction began. The project is helping to improve transportation and movement around the city.

According to project officials, about 40% of the work has been completed so far. Construction teams are now focusing on finishing two important structures: the Mile 2 Bridge and the Food Market Bridge. These are the main remaining parts of the project.

The project was launched to reduce traffic congestion, improve road safety, connect different parts of Bamenda more easily, and support business activities through better roads and transport facilities.

Since construction started, workers have been building roads, drainage systems, and bridges along the project route.

Officials say that once the two bridges are completed, the next stage will be to tar the road network. This will speed up the final phase of the project and bring its benefits closer to residents and road users.

Authorities describe the project as an important investment that will improve movement within Bamenda, support trade, make services more accessible, and encourage urban development.

Many residents and drivers are closely following the progress of the works and look forward to smoother traffic and shorter travel times when the project is completed.

Stakeholders remain confident that the project will achieve its goals and play a major role in modernizing Bamenda's transport system, strengthening the city's position as an important economic and administrative centre in the North-West Region.
