The Cameroon GCE Board has released a new written examination timetable for the June 2026 session. The announcement was made on June 11, 2026, after the exam schedule was changed because some examination questions were leaked on social media.
The updated timetable was approved by Mrs. Ndi Bernadette Frinwie Ntemna, Head of the GCE Board Transition Management Team. It gives clear information to thousands of Ordinary Level (O-Level) and Advanced Level (A-Level) candidates across Cameroon.
Exams Delayed by Two Weeks
Earlier this month, the Minister of Secondary Education, Prof. Nalova Lyonga, suspended and rescheduled the examinations that were supposed to start in mid-June. This decision was taken after confidential exam questions were leaked online.
To protect the credibility and fairness of the examinations, authorities postponed the exams for two weeks before setting a new timetable.
New Exam Dates
According to the revised timetable, the remaining written examinations will begin on Monday, June 22, 2026.
On the first day:
* O-Level candidates will write Physics and Chemistry.
* A-Level candidates will write Geography and Physics.
Morning sessions will start at 8:00 a.m., while afternoon sessions will begin at 1:00 p.m.
The written examinations will end on Thursday, July 2, 2026. On the final day, O-Level candidates will write Religious Studies, while A-Level candidates will sit for Cinematic Art papers.
Candidates Must Follow the New Timetable
The two-week postponement has caused extra expenses and challenges for many students and parents, including accommodation, transport, and feeding costs.
However, the GCE Board has stressed that all candidates and examination centre officials must strictly follow the new timetable. Candidates are advised to study the schedule carefully to avoid missing any examination, as this timetable replaces all previous versions.
