Members of Ntarinkon Cooperative Credit Union Limited have adopted the 2025 accounts of the union with an impressive balance sheet.
The members were satisfied that NtaCCUL was able to mobilize 13,106 new members into the union in 2025. This brings total membership to 117,213. Making Ntarinkon Cooperative Credit Union the biggest in the CEMAC subregion.
Financial indicators recorded significant progress. Members’ shares rose from 3.4 billion francs CFA to 3.8 billion francs CFA. Savings increased from 56.08 billion francs CFA to 66.8 billion francs CFA, marking a strong growth of 10.7 billion francs CFA. Deposits also moved from 3.4 billion to 3.8 billion francs CFA, reflecting an increase of 370.8 million.
Because of this strong performance, the union announced that 6% interest will be paid on savings, amounting to 4.5 billion francs CFA to members.
The Union's President, Barrister Akumah Miranda says; "The growth in membership is an evidence of the trust, the population has in the Board and management of this institution.
"The digitalisation of the credit union will allow our members to withdraw their money without having to go to the credit union counters. They can also withdraw from other commercial banks operating in CEMAC.
"The 6% interest rate offered to members and a promise for more in the future has greatly contributed to the growth of our union." Bar Akumah Miranda said.
Ade Muma Divine, General Manager of Ntarikon Cooperative Credit Union shared similar thoughts with the Board President.
"The credit union has recorded significant growth over the past year, with the AGM moving from the Congress Hall to the Bamenda Municipal stadium. Every aspect of our union witnessed a positive growth and we reinforcing our position as the largest and most effective credit union in the region.
"In terms of services, our institution has completed a three-year digitalization process where Members can now carry out transactions remotely via mobile apps and USSD platforms. The introduction of GIMAC cards also allows users to withdraw money from other banks and microfinance institutions, offering convenience, 24-hour access to financial services without visiting the credit union." Ade Muma Divine said.
Loan activities were equally impressive. A total of 102,224 loans were granted, amounting to 45.2 billion francs CFA. At the same time, loan delinquency reduced, showing a better monitoring system from the board and an improved repayment culture among members.
The union has also begun implementing the PATNUC project, which focuses on financing micro-credit for agricultural production in both urban and rural areas. About 2,000 farmers from NtaCCUL are expected to benefit across the North West, South West, Littoral, East, and West Regions. This initiative will strengthen agricultural productivity and support food security.
In regulatory compliance, NtaCCUL scored 15 out of 16 key COBAC prudential norms, proving that the institution remains financially sound and well managed.
Digital transformation has also advanced. After the USSD code and mobile App became operational in 2024, the GIMAC cards have now been launched. Members can obtain the cards from any branch and withdraw money from commercial banks and microfinance institutions across the CEMAC Region.
To ensure smooth digital operations, specialized centers have been created in all branches to assist members in using the App, USSD platform, and GIMAC cards, and to resolve any related issues quickly.
In terms of expansion, the union officially launched the Limbe and Ngoundere branches in 2025, although they became operational in 2024. Their launch significantly increased membership and business activities.
A new branch was also created in Douala, Bonamoussadi, in 2025 and became operational on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
Infrastructure development continued with the renovation of the Buea branch. Alucobond panels were installed, giving the building a modern facelift befitting of NtaCCUL’s status. The renovated building will be inaugurated soon. In Bertoua, a newly acquired plot of land has been fenced, and plans are underway for future construction. The union also purchased a Prado Land Cruiser to support its operations.
Looking ahead to 2026, NtaCCUL plans to create more agencies to support existing branches, purchase ATM machines to strengthen digital services, and construct a three-storey building in Bertoua.
Despite these achievements, insecurity in Cameroon remains a concern. Three branches recently came under serious attack. To prevent future incidents, the Board has deployed security personnel to all branches to safeguard members, staff, and assets.
With a solid financial growth, expanding services, and improved digital access, Ntarinkon Cooperative Credit Union continues to demonstrate stability, resilience, and commitment to its members across Cameroon.
