Guzang Cooperative Credit Union Reports Steady Growth in 2025

The Guzang Cooperative Credit Union Limited (GUZCCUL) has recorded notable progress in 2025, posting significant growth. The announcement was made during the Union's Annual General Meeting held at the CamCCUL Building in Bamenda.

       Operating with Focus

Speaking at the meeting, Board President Dr. Mbaku Henry highlighted GUZCCUL's continued operations across its seven branches. The Douala branch stood out as the strongest performing branch during the year. Maintaining services and protecting members' savings remained the Union's top priority.

GUZCCUL is promoting wider use of its independent salary code obtained from the Ministry of Finance, though management admits uptake remains limited.



A new Self-help savings account has also been proposed to broaden member benefits.

Beyond traditional savings and loan services, the Union continues to support njangi groups, insurance schemes, and agricultural financing.

 Through partnerships with development programs such as FODEC, PATNUC, and MINEPAT have enabled the Union to offer targeted financial services and support to farmers and agribusinesses, contributing to increased membership and engagement.

As the agricultural sector grows, it has a positive impact on the Union's membership and overall performance., farmers receive subsidized inputs and equipment to improve productivity.

“When our farmers grow, the Credit Union grows,” the General Manager said.
