Muluh Frankline- Cup Donor
In a heartwarming display of compassion and community spirit, humanitarian businessman Muluh Frankline launched a peace and solidarity Futsal tournament for inmates at the Bamenda Central Prison on October 6, 2025. The initiative aims to bring joy, hope, and a sense of purpose to the inmates, while also highlighting the importance of rehabilitation and reintegration.
The tournament, which boasts a prize tag of 200,000 francs, was met with enthusiasm from the inmates, who warmly welcomed Muluh Frankline to the prison. During his visit, the inmates made a heartfelt plea for an animation sound system and a handball ball for the female inmates. Muluh Frankline graciously promised to provide two sets of quality, modern speakers to enhance their recreational activities and the handball ball to be handed over on the day of the finals, October 20th.
The inmates also cried out for support, with a representative pleading with Muluh Frankline and other good-will citizens to be ambassadors for those awaiting overdue hearing and judgment.
The event saw the official kick-off of the tournament with two thrilling games playing for the opener, setting the tone for a spirited competition among the inmates. The inmates showcased their vibrant social and cultural talents, with captivating dance performances and stage presentations.
Asaah-Ngu Mbah Walter, Senior Superintendent in charge of the Bamenda Central Prison, praised Muluh Frankline's initiative, emphasizing the significance of such efforts in promoting rehabilitation and personal growth among inmates. "The prison is not a permanent home for people but a passageway to rebrand them," he noted. "It helps develop the mindsets of individuals, enabling them to live better lives and become assets to society. A good example is Nelson Mandela, who served 27 years in prison and later became President of South Africa."
Asaah-Ngu further highlighted the benefits of the tournament, saying, "The initiative of Muluh Frankline is a loadable one and it has a lot to do most especially with dealing with the psychosocial aspect of the inmates. With the tournament, the inmates will be able to cohabit with one another and it gives a sense of coexistence relationship with one another. Also, it is sports which is very good for their health, especially as the prison space is somewhat tight. We welcome such initiatives from the population because it makes the inmates to be very active and smart and it keeps them away from some side effects of non-sports proactiveness."
The senior superintendent urged the public to extend a hand of fellowship and love to the prison, emphasizing that inmates are citizens deserving of compassion and support. Muluh Frankline's gesture has not only brought a sense of excitement to the inmates but also serves as a reminder of the power of kindness and compassion in transforming lives. As the tournament progresses, it is hoped that it will inspire more community-driven initiatives to support rehabilitation and hope for those behind bars.
