Forced into widowhood, and how she singlehandedly raised her kids.
"From childhood, she had the characteristics of what it takes to be a politician. She knew how to share in the grief and pain of others. She has love and faith in the Lord.
"She never believes that she has an enemy." Prof Emeritus Chomben, her classmate said.
As explained by her daughter, Senator Regina Mundi was on her way to attend a wedding when she was kidnapped by armed separatist fighters on the 30th April 2022 and whisked off to an unknown destination.
In a review of the book presented by Maikem Emmanuela, she narrated that"she was stripped of her freedom and she could only find solace in the Bible." Maikem said
Senator Mundi will later spend 30 days in the hands of self styled Amba general Big Number in Batibo before her rescue on the 30th May 2022 by members of the Defense and Security forces.
Speaking to the audience, made up of cabinet Ministers, members of Parliament, Mayors and the admirers of the Senator, Elizabeth Regina Mundi said "this is not just a book launch but a celebration of life. This is not a work of fiction. It is my story. One that I have lived and one that has tested the fibre of my being. This is not a story of sympathy but of strength. It is a living proof that God still works in mysterious ways.
"At a certain time, my body was weary but my spirit clung to one unquestionable truth, God is with us. This is a testimony of survival against all odds." Senator Mundi said.
She went further to state that she wrote the book because she believes that stories like hers must be told.
To Minister Felix Mbayu who coordinated the prelaunch of the book, "every challenge leaves a greater opportunity." He said.
Proceeds of the book will be channeled towards the fight against Maternal mortality in Cameroon.
"When we have mothers die in the process of giving birth, it is very painful. By buying this book, you're joining a course to save lives. The government cannot do it all alone. We must come onboard to sensitize the women and everyone around us to tackle these issues women face during child delivery." Senator Elizabeth Regina Mundi said.
The prelaunch of the book coordinated by Minister Felix Mbayu generated 20 million Francs.
