Construction works along the Douala East Entrance are said to have hit 90% completion.
The figures were revealed recently.
Considering the progress observed by 6 May 2025, there are reasons to believe that the challenges ahead concerning the laying of the wearing course with bitumen concrete on the route of 2 x 2 x 3 lanes are currently being handled.
The purpose of the project is to ease traffic along the strategic point on the Douala - N’Djamena corridor.
As at 6 May 2025, the completion rate of road works was exactly 89% against 90% of time used.
MAGIL’s subcontractor for road works, MAG SARL company aims to complete the laying of the base course and other services before starting the implementation of the wearing course and the installation of road signs.
The Linear progress by task along the section under construction indicates that the sub-base had been laid in directions 1 and 2 over distances of 8.4 km and 8.48 km respectively, while the subgrade had been implemented over 8.56 km and 8.62 km on directions 1 and 2 respectively.
As for the base course in bituminous-bound graded aggregates, it had been laid in direction 1 over 7.13 km, while it already covered 7.63 km in direction 2.
In the meantime, gutters had already been built over a distance of 8.67 km in both directions. Shoulders were already constructed over a distance of 7.63 km and 7.3 km in directions 1 and 2 respectively.
Reinforced concrete separators already covered 5,780 LM in direction 1 and 5,070 LM in direction 2 meanwhile Works are also making progress on alternative routes.
The completion along the École publique Yatchika - Carrefour ARI route is at 28%.
The works to construct the structure found in Japoma are due to start once the relating execution studies will be complete.
