The Prime Minister, Head of Government Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute has evaluated works on ongoing major projects across the Far North Region. The projects worth over FCFA 500 Billion were reviewed one after the order during Dion Ngute’s recent visit to the Far North Region. This was on the sidelines to inaugurate the Bongor-Yagoua cross Border Bridge with his Chadian counterpart.
The Prime Minister visited several sites, including the Mora-Damaturu road and the Maroua-Banki road. He expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far and urged contractors to maintain the pace of work to ensure timely completion. The Prime Minister’s presence on the ground, locals said, demonstrates the government’s commitment to overseeing the implementation of the development projects to meet the needs of the population.
The PM Insisted that the development of the road network in the Far North Region is a priority for the government. Roads, he said, will enhance connectivity, facilitate trade, and improve access to essential services such as healthcare and education.
The Infrastructural projects, Dion Ngute added, will also contribute to the Region’s economic growth, creating new opportunities for local businesses, and improve on the wellbeing of the population and communities
To note that the government aims to stimulate economic development, improve living standards, and strengthen the Region’s integration into the national economy by investing in road infrastructure.
The Prime Minister’s inspection tour underscores the government’s focus on ensuring that these projects are completed to high standards and within the scheduled timeframe, ultimately benefiting the people of the Far North Region.
Supporters of President Biya used the event to drum up more support for him. At each a stop of the Prime Minister’s visit, CPDM supporters continued to call on President Paul Biya to present his candidacy in the upcoming Presidential election This was later reinforced through the various audiences the PM granted at the various stops during his inspection tour.
The Far North in recent times has been under several attacks from Boko Haram and other natural mishaps such as floods. The visit of the PM it is expected to boost the developmental strive of the Far North Region.
