CAMTEL, Public Service Ministry, sign Partnership to Digitalise Services

The Ministry of the Public Service and Administrative Reforms and Cameroon Telecommunications, CAMTEL have on Monday June 13th 2022, taken steps to digitalise the services of the Ministry.

This was during the signing of a convention between the Ministry and CAMTEL with a mission to provide digital services to the Ministry with focus on strong, stable and secured internet connection.

The high speed inter connection through radio link or dedicated optical Fibre, a data security solution is also part of the package.

Speaking at the signing ceremony at MINFOPRA, CAMTEL's General Manager, Judith Yah Sunday noted that the convention is of great importance to CAMTEL and the management of the public service.

"This convention is of great importance for us at CAMTEL and for the entire administration of our Republic. Government has invested a Centre and Telecommunication infrastructure. So as the main and sole operator of Telecommunications, it was important that we start the process with the Minister of Public Service to be able to make sure that other administrators follow and use the data centre." Judith Yah Sunday told the press.

The convention that has seen the light of day started with a visit of CAMTEL'S Data centre at Zamangoe, Centre Region, by Minister Joseph Le on the 4th May 2021 on the invitation of the General Manager of CAMTEL.

This as a measure to accompany the Ministry in its drive to digitalise the management of the state pay roll known as SIGIPES II(Computer System for the Integrated Management of State Personnel and Payroll).

This convention comes as a welcome relief to civil servants who have had difficulties with their advancement decisions and also limit the chasing of files.
