Mayor Chenwi hands writing materials to visually impaired student


The Mayor of Bamenda II Council, Chenwi Peter has handed over writing materials to some 9 visually impairment students currently under the Bamenda II social Centre.

The items consisting of a slate, a stylus and realms of cardboard papers were given to the students on Wednesday 26th January 2022 at the council premises.

Speaking at the occasion, Mayor Chenwi Peter told the visually impaired that his council will not relent in ensuring that pupils and students, no matter their disability, go to school in his municipality.


On her part, the Director of the social Centre, Gladys Ekie, applauded the Mayor and the council for always responding positively when a need is expressed to assist the Centre.

The writing materials adds to white canes and wheel chairs given to the Centre in 2021.


The President of the coordinating unit of Associations of persons living with disability Bamenda II, expressed thanks for the gesture as it comes at the most appropriate time when pupils and students are about writing their third sequence examination in schools.

The Bamenda II social Centre has students with varied disabilities, and has as aimed to educate them at all levels.
