PM Dion Ngute inaugurating the Bipindi-Grand Zambi industrial mine

The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, has inaugurated the Bipindi-Grand Zambi iron ore industrial mine in the South Region. The project, implemented by G-Stone Resources SA, marks a significant milestone in the country's mining sector development.

The mine is expected to produce 1 million tonnes of iron concentrate per year, with a second concentration plant under construction to increase production to 3 million tonnes annually.

In his keynote address, PM Dion Ngute highlighted the project's importance in developing the metallurgy and steel industry in Cameroon, aligning with the National Development Strategy and Vision 2035. He praised G-Stone Resources and its leader, Dieudonné Bougne, for their efforts in implementing the project, which is expected to create nearly 3,500 direct and indirect jobs and generate significant revenue for the state.

The project has been welcomed by the local population. The Mayor of Bipindi, Elias Bilong, expresses gratitude to the Head of State for bringing the project to their area. He also reassured the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, of the region's support and votes during the October 12 Presidential Elections

Laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the a mineral terminal in Kribi

Following the launch, PM Dion Ngute proceeded to Kribi for the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of a mineral terminal for the Kribi-Lobe iron ore project, implemented by SINOSTEEL Cameroon SA. The project has an estimated reserve of 632 million tonnes of iron ore and is expected to generate significant revenue for the state.

The inauguration of the Bipindi-Grand Zambi iron ore project and the laying of the foundation stone for the mineral terminal mark significant strides in Cameroon's mining sector development, aligning with President Biya's vision of making Cameroon a mining hub in Africa. The projects are expected to contribute to the country's economic growth, create jobs, and generate revenue for the state.

The Bipindi-Grand Zambi project is a multi-million dollar industrial mining project situated in the localities of Bipindi and Grand Zambi, Ocean Division of the South region. The project site has an estimated reserve of 150 million tonnes of magnetite ore at an average grade of 29.45% iron. The project will not only contribute to the national economy but also provide opportunities for the local population.

The Kribi-Lobe iron ore project, on the other hand, has a reserve estimate of 632 million tonnes of an average grade of 33%. The project is being implemented by SINOSTEEL, a Chinese mining company, and is expected to generate significant revenue for the state. The mineral terminal to be built by SINOSTEEL will enable the shipment of 14 million tonnes of iron concentrate, with the potential for future expansion.

Overall, the inauguration of the Bipindi-Grand Zambi iron ore project and the laying of the foundation stone for the mineral terminal mark a significant milestone in Cameroon's mining sector development, with the potential to contribute to the country's economic growth and development.
