The Fundong Municipality Unity Tournament's third edition came to a thrilling close on August 31, 2025. After a month and a week of intense competition, the final matchdays at the Fundong municipal field were electric. Passion, excitement, and breathtaking performances filled the air as youths, women, and persons with special needs showcased their talents.
In the Under-16 football final, Meli FC edged out Small Boys FC in a nail-biting penalty shootout after a stalemate in regulation time. The female football final was just as dramatic, with Kumtem FC triumphing over Saints FC 5-2 in penalties, highlighting the growing strength of women's football.
Super Park FC proved their mettle in the male senior category, overcoming Young Boys FC in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw. But it wasn't just football – the tournament featured volleyball, handball, mini marathon, draughts, "funjang", and tug-of-war, with persons with special needs actively participating.
Mayor Denis Awoh Ndang, SDO Meyong Gilbert Sunday, and Divisional Delegate Njah Wilson attended the closing ceremony, praising the tournament's spirit of unity and community development. The Mayor emphasized sports' role in fostering social cohesion and youth empowerment, promising continued support.
Special guest Gama Neville, a former captain of Yong Sports Academy and current Canon of Yaounde player, inspired young stars to aim big. The 2025 Unity Tournament reaffirmed Fundong as a hub of talent, resilience, and community spirit, where sports unite all.

- Football (Female) Category: Kumtem FFC (1st), Saint FC (2nd)
- Under-16 Football Categorie: Meli FC emerged 1st, Small Boys of Kumtem were second 2nd
- Handball, Volleyball, Semi-Marathon, and more had their winners, showcasing the diversity and talent in the municipality.
- "Funjang" an aged long floor or ground game played by several person where by till one person fails a level before the next person takes over. The game has seven small stones or whatever they choose to use to play the game. This game is a game very typical across the grass field of Cameroon and usually considered to be played within the women folk most especially teenagers. The game is know in the Kom land as "Funjang" while in other communities as "Munjang"
The tournament's theme, "Unity Through Sports: Building Bridges, Empowering Future," shone bright, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
The Fundong community stand tall to foster community growth through active participation of all in municipal development endeavors.
