The organizing committee of the Ndangoh Calvin Tah Peace and Unity Tournament in Mbengwi have expressed their gratitude to the administration of the Government Bilingual High School (GBHS) Mbengwi on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025. The committee organized a cleanup exercise on the school premises, clearing the overgrown fields that had become course for concern to many in the subdivision.
The tournament, currently at the knockout stage in both male and female categories, faced challenges at the start to secure a suitable playing ground due to other ongoing inter-quarter tournaments occupying available pitches.
The GBHS Mbengwi school campus, which had grown into a wild bush due to the ongoing crisis, was the best option for a neutral and unarguable playing ground.
The organizing committee approached the GBHS administration and was granted permission to use the pitch.
The tournament aims to unite and reintegrate the Mbengwi community, which is currently experiencing relative calm. By allowing the tournament to take place on their premises, the GBHS administration has demonstrated its commitment to community development and peacebuilding initiatives.
The cleanup exercise was a gesture of appreciation from the organizing committee to the GBHS administration for their support. The tournament continues to bring people together and promote unity in the community.
