Bamunka Peace, Unity Tournament Ends in Style, Hon Njingum Musa promotes peace, cohesion

The Grand finale of the Bamunka Peace and Unity Tournament drew to a close Sunday 24th August 2025 in Ndop.

The competition, an initiative of Honourable Njingum Musa, Questor at the National Assembly, saw a complete transformation of the playground with the massive participation of the population, signaling resilience and collective hope.




The tournament's final match saw the boys of Nassara FC emerge champions after a fiercely contested match, beating the determined Mile 25 FC by two goals to zero.

In women's handball, the final was spectacular as Mile 27 girls secured a hard fought victory over the girls of Kake with a score of 8 goals to 6.

The final which was celebrated across the Divisional Headquarters also provided space for some brain storming, coming less than two months to the Presidential elections.

Hon Njingum Musa acknowledged the pain inflicted on the denizens by separatist fighters. He empathized with the population but provided a solution, that of stopping the activities of the fighters at all cost.

"I know the hardships we have all gone through. I know it is not yet over but I can assure you that not long from now, peace will fully return to this Division. With your collaboration of course." Hon Njingum said.

He also reminded them of the recently purchased transformer to provide electricity to the neighbourhoods after the previous one was destroyed. Hon Njingum Musa also listened to the cries of the population. The complaint hovered around the nature of road from Bambili through Kedjom Ketinguh then Bamessing to Bamunka. On this the Questor said; "I have heard you. It is a situation I have presented to the competent authorities and in the not too distant future, the project for the reconstruction of the road will commence." Hon Njingum said. 

While praising the resilience of the population, Hon Njingum Musa called on the population to remain steadfast, send their children to school and to denounce activities aimed at tarnishing the image of the Division.

An identical tournament with the same cash prizes and sports discipline also took place in Babessi subdivision.




The final of the Bamunka Peace and Unity Tournament provided a rare opportunity for a community that lingers to live together, work together and prosper together.

It was an avenue for the discovery of talented sports men and women from Ngoketunjia Division.
