Speaking as he welcomed partners, startups, investors, and other stakeholders in the development drive of the region, Prof. Fru Angwafo III outlined a comprehensive strategic roadmap for the region's development, focusing on expanding local finance through modernized thrift schemes, enabling the region to tap into its own resources for growth.

"Our strategic road map consists of three key elements.  First to expand local finance through a modernized thrift scheme,  second, adding value chain to cassava, fish and livestock and a regional review of the cocoa sector, and lastly, cash for work under the peace and development initiative, PDI." Prof Fru Angwafo said.

Panelists discussed the fundamental importance of adding value to the cash crops and the artisanal sector of the region, targeting national and international markets.

The burden of development, as Prof. Fru Angwafo III aptly put it, does not rest solely on international bodies or the government. It is a collective responsibility that requires the active participation of the community. The agency to pilot this development is the North West Development and Investment Fund, NOWEDIF. By subscribing to NOWEDIF and supporting initiatives like the rebranding of the artisanal sector, innovations in traditional medicine, and education - which was the pride of the North West - communities can drive its own development.

The Economic forun is placed under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Head of state. Speaking at the event, the Governor of the North West Region,  Adolphe Lele Lafrique, underscored that the region is moving very fast from crisis to stability and growth.
