CAMTEL Unveils 5G Plans at SAGO 2025

Cameroon's Telecommunications, CAMTEL, has made a strong impression at the 14th edition of the Government Action Fair, SAGO 2025.

The company showcasefy its strategic vision through the presentation of its services, digital solutions and the upcoming deployment of it's 5G technology.

Through its Deputy General Manager, Daniel Désiré Ollé, "CAMTEL is committed to supporting the Government of Cameroon in delivering modern, accessible and reliable services to both citizens and businesses." The Deputy GM said.

During the event, the Deputy GM led a discussions on the theme; "CAMTEL Mobile: For a More connected Cameroon." Discussions centered on the future of digital technology, the national Network coverage and the imminent launch of Blue Money, CAMTEL's latest mobile money solution.

Désiré Ollé stated that Since 2015, CAMTEL has deployed 2G, 3G and 4G technologies at the same level as other operators. The company is moving further with 5G infrastructure already in place on the hardware level. "All that remains is activating the software components once the national 5G strategy is officially adopted." The Deputy GM said.

With the imminent deployment of the 5G network, service delivery will significantly improve and coverage will move from 40 percent to 80 percent.

Under the leadership of Mrs. Judith Yah Sunday Achidi, CAMTEL continues to assert its role as a strategic partner in the modernization of public services. The company positions itself as a digital hub serving the country’s economic development by facilitating access to high-speed internet, cloud services, cybersecurity, and enterprise connectivity.

Through its active presence at SAGO, CAMTEL reaffirms its commitment to supporting the Government of Cameroon in delivering modern, accessible, and reliable services to both citizens and businesses.

Minister Rene Sadi opening SAGO 2025


Launched on the 30th June 2025 at the esplanade of the Yaounde City Council, the Prime Minister, Head of Government was officially represented by the Minister of Communication, Rene Emmanuel Sadi.

He hailed the creation of a new exhibition space dedicated to promoting locally made products. Dubbed the “Village for Local Consumption,” the space has been described as a strategic step towards fostering economic independence through the promotion and consumption of Made in Cameroon goods. Speaking to the Press, René Emmanuel Sadi, said the initiative aligns perfectly with the Head of State's call for import substitution and a shift towards local economic empowerment.

“This village is more than a display- it is a direct response to the President's appeal for Cameroonians to produce and consume what we make. It is a symbol of economic patriotism,” Minister Sadi said.

SAGO 2025 will run till July 5.
