Léon Theiller Onana
The CPDM Councillor for Monatélé in the Lekie Division of the Centre region has deposited his candidacy to run for the 2025 Presidential elections under the banner of the CPDM.
This comes exactly one day since the file of the National President of the CPDM was deposited.
This therefore means the party has two candidates filled as at now.
Léon Theiller Onana had previously remarked that the party has not had a Congress since 2011 and the mandate of the National President, the Political bureau and the Central committee long expired, paving the way for him to emerge as Presidential candidate.
Onana also termed the numerous motions of support calling on President Paul Biya to seek an 8th term in office as hypocritical.
The basic organs of the Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement is clear that the party's President is the natural candidate.
Drama is expected to unfold when the Electoral Board begins examining the files.
As at press time, a total of 15 aspirants had deposited their files.
Note should be taken that Onana is currently abroad.
