The Observer is reliably informed that the Legion Commander of the North West, Colonel Zambo Nguema has died.
The Senior officer of the National Gendarmerie was killed in an accident where his vehicle collided with a truck.
The death of Colonel Zambo Nguema Etienne Celestine happened on the day the Governor of the North West Region was chairing the Regional Security and Administrative Coordination Meeting at the Regional Delegation of MINEPAT North West in the afternoon of Tuesday 27th May 2025.
Colonel Zambo Nguema was the commander of the Gendarmes in the North West Region and has spent a little over a year in the Region.
The site of the incident
He was appointed by Presidential Decree number 2024/063 of the 13th March 2024 and installed on the 21st March 2024 at the courtyard of the 5th Joint Military Region.
The demise of Colonel Zambo Nguema Etienne Celestine has sent shock waves across the region.
The fatal accident occured at New Road in Bamenda.
