Cow Street Bamenda adds to the number of poor roads in the North West capital city.
Huge potholes have developed across the road precisely at Top star and the entrance to cow street. This has caused cars to 'swim' across the street when it rains.
Cow street, Ghana Street and the stretch around old town were considered as the only good roads in Bamenda which is in dire need of good roads but the poor drainage system along the cow street road has made the tar to gradually give way, forcing circulation on that section of the town to be very timid.
It was along this stretch of the road that several kidnappings for ransom have been recorded.
It is not known which measures will be taken by the City council to arrest the situation as the road doesn't fall under the designated roads for reconstruction.
The dilapidated roads in Bamenda will be reconstructed with funds from the World Bank while other feeder roads will be reconstructed with funds from the French Debt relief Fund (C2D).
