Public Works Minister on inspection visit to Far North Region

The Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel NGANOU DJOUMESSI, is on a working visit to the Far North region.

The visit which began  Sunday April 2, 2023, aims to assess the work progress of ongoing road projects, and to examine the study that has been adopted in other ongoing projects.

This aims to sustain roads to thwart the climate change in the Far North region.

 Another motive of the visit is to look at issues that relate to the reconstruction of the Mora-Dabanga-Kousseri axis. 

Minister Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi,  seeks to identify specific problems related to the execution of projects in this region as well as proffer solutions to such  issues.


A meeting was held after the site inspection with the regional and divisional officials of the Ministry of Public Works of the Far North region.

 
The working visit continued Monday when the minister visited the newly constructed 120-meter bridge at Mayo Limani. 

The bridge links Cameron and Nigeria. 

The contract was handed over to COMAR Sarl.

 According to the head of the control mission, Azah Yannick Blaise, the project was realized in record time.

He  said the bridge will last for a very long time due to the durable material used in building the facility.


 The minister of public works has expressed his satisfaction with the quality of work done.

He has however given firm instructions to customs officers present to be vigilant on heavy-loaded trucks plying the road.

He has insisted that no heavy-loaded truck should be allowed to cross the bridge while overloaded.

He said overloaded trucks should be offloaded before crossing the bridge.
