Philemon Yang, leader of the CPDM Delegation noted that Pa Achu stirred the ship of Government in Cameroon's most political unstable time, a man who demystified politics with his simplicity. Pa Achu was a diehard of the Cameroon People Democratic Movement.

To immortalize his memory, he was posthumously raised to the Grand cordon of the Cameroon order of merit.

His legacy was further re-echoed in a message from Cameroon's President, Paul Biya. He described the fallen statesman as level-headed and an astute politician.

The preacher of the day, Rev Miki Hans, synod clerk of the PCC preaching on the theme; "Do not let your heart be troubled" softened the hearts of the mourners with powerful words from the book of John 14:1-3.

The 87-year-old fallen statesman will be remembered for his devotedness in service.

Late Rt. Honourable Simon Achidi Achu served as the first Anglophone Prime Minister, Minister of Justice and a Vice President to the upper house of Assembly (Senate House)
