YOSA supporters surprise players, sets target for 2021

Supporters of Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda has on Thursday, 18th March 2021 promised to continue helping the players attain their goals for the 2020-2021 football season. 

Speaking at the their base in Bamenda, the President of the supporters club, Mbole Denis cautioned the players to first of all play football, aim higher than where they are now and be professional. 

He frowned at players explaining their personal issues with supporters who blow it out of proportion. 

To ensure that the team wins their Day three clash against Canon of Yaounde, one of their supporters, Mitterand, promised to increase their winning bonuses from the 150,000 frs promised by the supporters club President to 300,000 Frs

100,000 francs has been set aside as an allowance to the players if they can win matches and 50,000 for draws going forward

Supporters of the 2013 champions of the Cameroon challenge cup also provided playing boots to all the players of the squad while a special boot has been reserved for the first player that scores a goal this season. 

To ensure that supporters in the diaspora watch matches live, an iPad has been provided that will be used to stream matches live on their Facebook page. 

In response to these gifts, Louis Dada Manjo, longest serving player of the club promised that the match against Canon is a forgone conclusion as the 3points are already back home.  

The supporters through the voice of Mitterand reminded the team that it is eight years since they lastly won a trophy and will be delighted if they can win this season

"Believe that you can be champions. If you believe in that then know I will support you every match day to see you happy" Mitterand, a former player told the team


YOSA takes on Canon this Sunday in Yaounde on Matchday three. The team is still to record a point after its season's opener against TKC could not play due to the unavailability of COVID-19 results. The team suffered an away defeat to Cotonsport of Garoua on matchday two. 

The team led by Coach Nkabyo Martin looks poised to finishing this year better than last season. The team ended the previous campaign with the best attack.
