Mayors/MPs Confab: Senator Regina Mundi Calls for collective Action towards development

Senator Mrs Elizabeth Regina Mundi, Member of Cameroon's senate has called on elected local officials to work in synergy with the population to forster a peaceful atmosphere.

The Senator was speaking Saturday September 5, 2020 as Mayors and Members of Parliament of the CPDM met in Bamenda

In her keynote address, she called on the local population to remain calm as Regional elections are on sight come December. 

"They should remain calm and vigilant. Be true to the ideals of this country because Regional elections will be Elections that will put in place a structure for the development of the region by the region." she said

"This time we are talking about development of the Region by the people of the region and they must know that we cannot carryout any degree of development without first of all working in an atmosphere of peace." She added. 

The Members of Parliament and Mayors met at a time the Region is facing numerous challenges, on the security front and COVID-19

The 18 resolutions adopted during deliberations are expected to bring in cohesion and synergy in work between the Elected officials

The local officials first met in a meeting to discuss their well being and working together at the residence of the Senator, two months ago

Senator Regina Mundi, believes it's time to move forward as a person and turn the challenges of the last four years into opportunities

The Mayors and MPs have all agreed to meet at least twice a year

Elizabeth Regina Mundi is one of the CPDM senators appointed by President Paul Biya for the North West region by Decree N° 2018/242 of 12 April 2018. 

She was also instrumental as a member of the National Bureau of the WCPDM and  CPDM Central Committee member before the last congress of the party qualified her for the Political Bureau.
