The Synod Clerk of PCC, Rev. Ayuk Solomon Eta said on Sunday, November 1, 2026, as he instituted and inducted Rev. Dr. Numfor Godwin as Secretary to the Moderator of the PCC and Parish Pastor of PC Bomaka in Buea, Fako North Presbytery, South West Region.
Preaching from the Gospel of Matthew 5: 1 – 12 under the theme, “Character and Life of a True Disciple and True Saint.” the Synod Clerk, encouraged worshippers to strife to lead a character and life of the Good Teacher, Jesus Christ.
Describing Rev. Dr. Numfor as dynamic, hardworking, assiduous and a conscientious pastor, the Synod Clerk emphasises that character is more important than popularity, noting that a Christian's character should reflect the attitude of Christ.
He reminded the congregation that Christian life was not about humanity trying to reach God, but about God reaching and transforming people. He called on believers to model their lives after Christ, preach the gospel through exemplary living and remain faithful amid tribulations and suffering.
Addressing the inductee, the Synod Clerk urged him to remain steadfast in his commitment to Christ, continually learn from Jesus and translate those lessons into practical service. He stressed that the new responsibilities were not an invitation to compromise but a call to stand for the truth, maintain a clean heart before God and serve as a shepherd who stands with his flock.
“We induct you today not to add to the troubles of the church,” he said, urging Rev. Dr. Numfor to draw his strength from Jesus if he hoped to make a positive impact on society.
To the worshipper, the chief celebrant heartened them to remain faithful in Christ in the face of challenges.
“I encouraged you to renew your commitment to service, remain faithful despite persecution and ingratitude. Hold on to the assurance of God's enduring love and eternal reward,” the preacher heartened.
More than 3,000 worshippers attended the service, including the PCC Financial Secretary, Secretary of the Committee of the Ministry, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Synod Committee members, Moderator Representative in North West, heads of departments, the Dean of the Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Presbyterial Secretaries and Treasurers, pastors, religious leaders, and traditional and administrative authorities.
