Brigadier General Nka Valere
The appointment which was made public on Monday 3rd August 2026 as part of the latest military reshuffle by the President of the Republic, places the senior military officer at the helm of one of the most important sectors of the Cameroonian military responsible for training, doctrine and the professional development of the defense forces.
Before his new appointment, Brigadier General Nka Valere served at the International War College, where he contributed to the training of senior military officers and the development of strategic defence studies.
In his new role, he will oversee the organisation and supervision of military training institutions across the country, ensuring that officers and soldiers receive the professional education and operational skills needed to respond to evolving security challenges.
Military training and formations play a critical role in preparing personnel for national defence, peacekeeping operations and other missions entrusted to the Cameroon Armed Forces.
Security analysts say Brigadier General Nka Valere's experience in strategic military education makes him well suited for the position, particularly at a time when the country continues to modernise its armed forces while confronting multiple security threats.
His appointment comes amid a wider reorganisation of the military high command aimed at strengthening leadership, improving operational effectiveness and enhancing the professionalism of the defence forces.
As head of military training and formations, Brigadier General Nka Valere is expected to play a central role in preparing the next generation of military leaders and ensuring that the country's defence forces remain capable of addressing both current and emerging security challenges.
