The Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis, popularly known as the Shisong Sisters, have announced the official inauguration of the new St. Clare Catholic General Hospital, scheduled to take place on July 25, 2026.
The opening of the new healthcare facility marks an important milestone in the congregation's long-standing commitment to providing quality and affordable healthcare services to communities across Cameroon.
As part of activities leading up to the inauguration ceremony, the hospital will organize a two-day subsidized health campaign aimed at improving access to essential medical services for residents of Babenga, Bekoko and neighbouring communities.
The health campaign will take place on July 22 and 23, 2026, beginning each day at 8:00 a.m., at the premises of St. Clare Catholic General Hospital in Babenga, located near the Camion entrance in Bekoko.
According to the organizers, members of the public will benefit from a wide range of free medical services offered by qualified healthcare professionals.
The campaign will provide free malaria screening, free haemoglobin measurement, free blood pressure checks, free HIV testing and counselling, and free blood sugar testing.
In addition to these services, the hospital will offer a 50 per cent discount on several diagnostic tests and investigations
