A woman named Ngono Sharon died after a violent fight with another woman in the Etam Bafia area of Yaoundé on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
According to reports, the problem started because of a disagreement related to a personal relationship. The argument became heated and even involved some family members of one of the women.
Witnesses said the two women eventually started fighting physically. People living nearby stepped in and separated them, seemingly ending the confrontation.
However, the situation did not stop there. Reports say that the other woman, Mamie Mengue, later went to Sharon's home. She is accused of attacking Sharon with a stone.
Sharon was rushed to Saint Kisito Hospital in the Mvog-Mbi area of Yaoundé for medical treatment. Doctors reportedly found that she was suffering from internal bleeding. Despite efforts to save her, she died later that same day.
Following the incident, police officers from the Nkoldongo Police Station arrested Mamie Mengue. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine exactly what happened and whether criminal charges will follow.
The incident has shocked many residents. It has also renewed concerns about the growing number of violent disputes linked to relationships and family conflicts. Many people are calling for individuals to handle disagreements peacefully before they escalate into tragedy.
