Rev Fr John Berinyuy Tatah has been appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Bamenda.

In a reading made public on Friday 13th February 2026 at the Bamenda Metropolitan Cathedral, Rev Fr John Burinyuy steps into the role that was lastly occupied by Bishop Michael Bibi.
North West Governor amongst those who witnessed the historic proclamation
Before his appointment, Fr John Burinyuy was Rector of the Catholic University Institute Ndop.
He was the last to be released after some priests were kidnapped in Ndop.

His épiscopal ordination will take place on March 19.
