CAMTEL Uses PROMOTE Fair to Showcase Cameroon’s Digital Transformation Plans

               CAMTEL at PROMOTE

CAMTEL took part in the 10th edition of PROMOTE, a major international business exhibition that recently ended in Yaounde, to promote Cameroon’s digital transformation goals.

The event brought together government officials, business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, development partners, and experts from Cameroon and other countries. PROMOTE is considered one of the most important business and economic events in Central Africa.

This year’s theme was: “Private Enterprises and the Business Environment: What Standards Are Needed to Face National and International Economic Challenges?"

CAMTEL was one of the most visible exhibitors at the event. The company used the opportunity to show its important role in improving telecommunications and supporting Cameroon’s digital development.

Many visitors, investors, government officials, and business people visited CAMTEL’s stand to learn about its latest technologies and services.

CAMTEL presented itself not only as a telecommunications company but also as a key partner in Cameroon’s economic growth and digital independence. The company displayed solutions aimed at improving internet connectivity, protecting data, and helping businesses succeed in the digital economy.

Some of the main attractions at the stand included demonstrations of CAMTEL’s modern fiber-optic network, digital services for businesses, and the Zamengoe National Data Centre, one of Cameroon’s major digital infrastructure projects.

The company also promoted its Blue and Business products, which are designed to meet the communication and technology needs of homes, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and large companies.

Supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) was one of CAMTEL’s key messages during the exhibition. Company representatives explained that fast and reliable internet is now essential for businesses to remain competitive, innovative, and productive.

By expanding broadband internet and telecommunications infrastructure, CAMTEL aims to help businesses increase productivity, reach new markets, and compete both locally and internationally.

Promoting Digital Sovereignty

CAMTEL also highlighted the importance of digital sovereignty by encouraging local data hosting and secure digital infrastructure.

As concerns about cybersecurity and data protection continue to grow, the company believes that keeping important data within Cameroon is necessary for national security, better compliance with regulations, and reduced dependence on foreign digital systems.

The Zamengoe Data Centre was presented as a key project that will help Cameroon become a regional digital hub.

In addition, CAMTEL showcased its efforts to expand telecommunications services to rural and underserved communities. The goal is to ensure that more citizens, entrepreneurs, and informal-sector workers can participate in the digital economy.

As Cameroon works toward achieving the goals of the National Development Strategy (SND30), CAMTEL continues to play an important role in the country’s modernization.

Experts who attended PROMOTE 2026 noted that strong telecommunications infrastructure is essential for industrial growth, innovation, investment, and digital transformation.
