As artificial intelligence reshapes economies worldwide, the MTN Foundation Cameroon is positioning young girls at the center of this transformation through the 2026 Girls in ICT Day.
Organized at the Open Dreams Digital Center, the initiative introduced participants to Skills Academy, a platform providing free, market-relevant certifications, alongside a session exploring career pathways in AI.
By equipping young girls with practical digital skills, the se MTN Foundation Cameroon contributes to building a future-ready workforce aligned with the demands of the digital economy.
Inclusion remained central, with strong representation from a hearing-impaired participant.
“Bridging the gender gap in technology is not just a social priority—it is an economic imperative. Girls must be equipped today to lead tomorrow’s digital economy,” emphasized Danièle Mbome, Executive Secretary of the MTN Foundation Cameroon.
“Getting certified today made me realize I can compete globally. This is more than training—it’s an opportunity,” said a participant.
