Three Days to Polls: CPDM Mezam IA Holds Mega Rally, Receives Former SDF Supporters

Three days to the October 12 Presidential Election, the Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement, CPDM, Mezam IA Section have presented three new militants to the party faithfuls in a mega rally held at the esplanade of the SDO's office, Thursday 9th October 2025.

Ma Matilda (a name given to her by The Observer) came to the stage with her party belongings consisting of pictures, certificates and testimonials of the Social Democratic Front from 1990. Ma Matilda and friends publicly endorsed the CPDM as the party which has met the hope and aspirations of the Bamendakwe man, pointing that come October 12, she and her friends will be voting for President Paul Biya.




CPDM Party welcomes new militants 

The resident of Ntenefor who spoke both in the vernacular and pidkin English, reminded those who came out to first and foremost vote for the CPDM candidate and Second, to ensure that they send their children to school.

The women were welcomed to the party by Fongod Edwin Nuvaga representing the Mezam Divisional Campaign Team and she was clad in the CPDM uniform by the WCPDM Section President for Mezam IA, Senator Mrs Nebah Ndosiri Ndoye and assisted by the Deputy Mayors of Bamenda I.

The euphoria at the mega rally came when Dr Taniform Peter, CPDM Section President for Mezam IA and Communal campaign Team Head for Bamenda I and Fongod Edwin Nuvaga, enumerated the achievements of the Biya administration to the people of Bamenda I.

From the liquefied Gas plant which was recently commissioned, to the Bamenda I Municipal Stadium in Atougoulah, to the current tarring of up to 10 km of roads in the subdivision to the construction of a modern market, the Customs Head office and the Head office of the Rice Value Chain Project, the population went into ecstacy.

It was stated that President Paul Biya has scratched the backs of the people of Bamenda I and it is time to reciprocate.

Speaking as he welcomed people to the event ground, the Mayor of Bamenda I, Mbigha Njah Felix said the municipality has achieved a lot ranging from the opening of roads to the construction of bridges, rural electrification, double surface dressing, the CPDM has appeared as the only party that cares for the development of Bamenda I

"Our most important commodity is in this Municipality, is the peace that we enjoy. It is what has given us substantial development." Mayor Mbigha said.

To Fon Forchesiri III of Bamendakwe, he joined his voice to echo the achievements of the party and said it was wise for the population of his village to stand by President Paul Biya.



Massive turnout

Dr Taniform Peter expounded on the need to give the CPDM a 100% victory. He said it was their bargaining chip for continuous development, growth, youth and women empowerment.

Those present at the rally were reminded to be present at their polling stations at 7 am before the polls officially open at 8am. The City Mayor Paul Achombong told them to be vigilant and to vote for the white ballot paper carrying the picture of the President of the Republic.

In total, some 15000 electors will head to polls on October 12 in Bamenda I to choose the next President of Republic.
