Senator Nebah Ndosiri Urges North West Women to Vote for President Biya, Citing Record on Empowerment

The Member of Cameroon Senate and Senator for the North West Constituency, Senator Prof Nebah Bridget Ndosiri Ndoye has called on the women of the North West Region to vote overwhelmingly for President Paul Biya on October 12.

According to the Senator, President Paul Biya has been a champion for the advancement of women's rights, engaging more women in politics and positioning them for the future.

Speaking in her capacity as the Mezam 1A WCPDM Section President during a mega rally held at the SDO's esplanade on Thursday 9th October 2025, Senator Nebah was emphatic that the North West women have been recognized.

She mentioned that the North West can boast of two women in government. Minister Mbah Acha Rose Fomundam, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of the Supreme State Audit (CONSUPE) and Asheri Kilo, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Basic Education. The North West has one female General Manager, Judith Yah Sunday Epouse Achidi, General Manager of CAMTEL, several Inspector Generals in various ministries and most recently, the Deputy Secretary General at the Senate, Justice Awasum is from the North West.

For those elected, the North West currently counts four female Senators on 10, four Female CPDM MPs on 18. 

Numbers which the Senator say are impressive and the President of the Republic, Speaking in Maroua last Tuesday, has promised to continue empowering more women.

"I made a commitment that the situation of women and young people will be at the heart of my concerns in the next seven years. I will keep my words, you can be sure. I urge you once more for your valuable support. 

"We have made strides in recent years. We will ensure that more than ever before their rights are respected and they're protected against all forms of violence." President Biya said.

On his campaign posters, the President of the Republic has been categorical on women's issues.


"I shall ensure that women and young people are given greater responsibility in the public and private sectors, while improving support for entrepreneurship and self-employment."




"I shall strengthen legislation on violence against women and provide greater protection for widows and abandoned women against all forms of abuse." Are some of the messages from President Paul Biya.

Senator Mrs Nebah Ndosiri reminded the women of the several women empowerment centres opened across the country and told them they had just one option on Sunday 12th October, vote for President Paul Biya.
