The ruling CPDM party launched its Ndian Division campaign in Mundemba, South West Region, with militants pledging unwavering support for President Paul Biya in the October 12 Presidential election.
The mega rally, chaired by Minister Balungeli Confiance Ebune, Minister, Director of the Prime Minister's cabinet, brought together supporters from across the division. Speaker after speaker pointed to Biya’s achievements in governance, education, women’s empowerment, and local development.
Mayor Ekenue Samuel of Mundemba likened Biya to “the old broom who knows the corners of the house,” urging the population to back the President in gratitude for investments and appointments benefiting the division, including that of Prime Minister Chief Dr Dion Ngute.
The Ndian I Section President reaffirmed loyalty to Biya, describing him as a “humanist, nationalist, and advocate for dialogue and peace,” while Hon. Mary Meboka highlighted his efforts to empower women and foster democracy. She also appealed to youth to embrace peace and education.
Prof. Horace Ngomo Manga, Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea, cited Biya’s record in education, stressing that every region now hosts a university, and basic schooling is accessible nationwide.
PAMOL GM Tapea Solomon Mbile praised Biya for reviving the state corporation, noting its workforce has grown from under 400 in 2020 to over 1,000 today, restoring its role as a major employer in the region.
Closing the rally, Minister Ebune described Ndian people as “resilient and faithful,” urging them not to be misled but to stand with Biya, a leader he called “tested and proven, who has given Ndian a place of honour in Cameroon’s destiny.”
