Dolingo Bikinn Diongo has been installed as the new Divisional officier for Bamenda I subdivision.
He was installed at the SDO's Explanade on Friday 8th August 2025 by the Senior Divisional Officier of Mezam, Simon Emile Mooh.
During the installation ceremony, the SDO charged the incoming DO to maintain the already enjoyed peace and security in the subdivision. The SDO also charged him to support Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) to conduct free, fair and transparent elections in the subdivision, promote the hamious living together of the people of the subdivision which is the Headquarters of the Region as well as the Division.
The incoming Divisional Officer was called to ensure that the land consultative board is able to resolve pending disputes, close illegal churches and have a control of pharmaceutical products. He was equally reminded to work closely with the council and other tax officers to do tax recovery, while ensuring that the subdivision doesn't slump into insecurity. Here he was charged to promote peace groups and clubs.
"I wish to remind you that the fundamental assignment of the civil administrators is to ensure that people and their properties are adequately secured." The SDO said.
While welcoming him to Bamenda I, the Mayor, Mbigha Njah Felix, presented the opportunities and challenges of the subdivision. He detailed that the crisis has caused so many inhabitants to relocate to Bamenda I. While this presents a perfect opportunity for urbanization, it is also weighing the limited resources of the subdivision. One of such irregularities is pressure on land ownership which needs urgent attention. He charged the administrator to carefully look into this as he begins his administrative stay in the subdivision.
Dolingo Bikinn Diongo was born on the 12th of August 1973. Before his appointment as Divisional Officier for Bamenda I, he has previously served as DO of Bum, Batibo and recently Bali where he spent a remarkable Eight years and Two months.
Dolingo Bikinn Diongo is a holder of a masters degree in political science from the University of Douala, a 2001 graduate from ENAM. he is a father of four children.
He takes over from Mboh Barnabas. The civil Administrator who goes on retirement was described by the SDO and Mayor as someone who did his all to ensure that Bamenda I stayed peaceful and there was total peace and tranquility.
Mboh Barnabas in his three years and Nine months stay in Bamenda I supervised the construction of the Bamenda Liquefied petroleum Gas plant which will hence change the economy of the subdivision.
Bamenda I which has agriculture as one of its source of livelihood, is made up of just one village and has a population size of 128,000 people spread across 50 quarters, shared into 10 Zones. The subdivision lies on a surface area of 220 Square Kilometers and has a council with 31 councilors and 2 deputy Mayors.
Dolingo Bikinn Diongo is a Senior Civil Administrator who is expected to lead the supervision through the 2025 Presidential Elections and the 2026 Municipal and Legislative elections.
