Second Edition of North West Youth Sports Jamboree Kick off in Bamenda

The Second edition of the North West Youth Sports Jamboree has gone underway in Bamenda, Friday 8th August 2025.

The Jamboree that will bring young people from all the corners of the North West Region will see them compete in different disciplines like football, handball, volleyball, traditional games, and sports for persons with disabilities.

Placed under the distinguished patronage of the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, the games will be an avenue for young persons to learn civic and moral rearmament, connect with one another and also rub minds in intellectual debates.

Bui Young Stars 


Organized by the Cameroon National Youth Council, North West Regional Bureau, the competition will play till August 28th 2025 with lots of prizes to be won.

The opening match was played between Bui Young Stars and Mezam I FC. The young stars from Bui beat their Mezam counterparts by 6 goals to zero, taking a pole position in their group. 



Speaking as he said officially launched the 2025 edition, the President of the Cameroon National Youth Council for the North West, Mekom Samuel Taleh said "The main objective of the tournament is ensure that we bring the youths of the 34 subdivisions the 7 Divisions of the North West to interact and forge ideas for personal and communal growth. This will form a stronger bond amongst us." Mekom Samuel Taleh said.

Quizzed if there was a special message to the youths, the President said; "We should continue together, we should unite together, we should be a stronger force and we should encourage back-to-school."

For the Divisional President of the Cameroon National Youth Council for Bui, Kekoh Clifford, while celebrating his victory called on his peers to "know that football is a game of unity and peace. After this tournament we must carry this message back to our Division to build peace and hamious living together." 




The competition will bring together boys and girls. The football boys and girls is taking place at the Bamenda Municipal Stadium.
