The Yaounde Branch of the Achini Cultural and Development Association have pledged their unwavering support to Mayor Ngwakongoh Lawrence for his brilliance and development strides in the village.
The association President, Suh Michael, thanked the Mayor for opening up the Achini road and constructing a bridge over the River Mbee. To them, this has facilitated movement and communication around the village and with neighbouring villages.
"We do a lot of agriculture in Achini. A good road also means our produce can get to the market on time and it greatly reduces post harvest losses." The President said.
Achini is also known as the bread basket of Bafut subdivision, known for the production of ginger, sugar cane, Cocoa palms amongs others and also blessed with sharp sand and igneous rocks, suitable for construction purposes.
While appreciating the Mayor, they also requested for electricity to be extended to the area.
"Achini is developing at a very fast rate. We need electricity to be extended to the area. The Mayor has promised us this and we will rally behind him." The President emphasized.
Mayor Ngwakongoh Lawrence appreciated the support he has received from the people of Achini since elected in 2020. He promised to include the electricity extension in 2026 and do a proper follow-up. Taking into consideration that 2026 is an electoral year, he called on the village association to mobilize and give him and his councillors a second term of meaning development in Bafut.
