Mayor Chenwi Peter Commends Staff for Steadfastness on Labour Day

The Mayor of Bamenda II Council, Chenwi Peter has celebrated with the staff of his council, councillors and stakeholders for their steadfastness and productivity despite the crisis.

Mayor Chenwi Peter was speaking at the Bamenda II Council hall on May Day where the council administration and staff sat to look at the path covered for the last five years and the perspectives of the new year.





Meeryment at Bamenda II Council 

Mayor Chenwi Peter appreciated the staff for their diligence, steadfastness despite threats thrown at them.

"We decided to celebrate this year taking into consideration the context under which these people work. It is very difficult and challenging but we are pleased that God has been with us. Despite the unfortunate incident that happened to our second Deputy Mayor, Mrs Joko Freda in 2024.

"We are committed to quality service delivery, the development of Bamenda II Council area and more importantly to support the development initiatives of the vital forces of this Municipality." Mayor Chenwi Peter said.

The words of the Mayor were preceded by a message from the Staff Delegate, Suh Marcellus appreciated the council executive for being committed to paying their salaries regularly, despite the council owing two months of unpaid salaries. 

"We wish to appreciate the Mayor for always standing by us. Though we are having this arrears, we are assured that it will be sorted out in the near future." Marcellus said.

The Mayor also said workers due advancement will receive it in the course of the year while those who have distinguished themselves will be decorated.

May Day ended in Bamenda II with a lot of meeryment.
