The concerned citizen reported that they were carrying more than 20 bags of cannabis. Immediately control points were notified and heavy duty trucks were controlled.

In a move to avoid night patrols, the driver decided to use the Ndamukong stretch of road where he was intercepted. On the truck were empty beer bottles in crates as well as 25 bags of cannabis weighing more than 700 Kilograms.

The truck driver and his assistant have maintained a sealed lip over every question posed to them. The investigation team have been struggling to get clarity as to where the marijuana came from and to whom it was destined to, however their questions have been met with a single action, which is silence.

Police Commissioner Emmanuel Mbock says the matter will be heard at the level of the attorney Generals office while the law will be enforced.

The truck has been impounded at the Bamenda Central Police station.

Emmanuel Mbock used the occasion to call on the population to work in tandem with the defense and security forces to weed out drug traffickers from the society.
