The Secretary General of the CPDM Central committee, Jean Nkuete has posthumously decorated the departed King of Mankon, Fo SAN Angwafo III.
The Fon who disappeared in July 2022 was raised to the Dignity of Grand Cordon of the Cameroon order of merit.
Known for his great lobbying skills, his peaceful resolutions of conflict, his taste for development, Fo SAN Angwafo III was eulogized as a great figure whose departure will leave a great vacuum in the city of Bamenda.
He served as King of the Mankon people for 63 years and championed several development projects especially when he served as chairman of the Bamenda rural council and Bamenda urban council.
Before his disappearance, Fo Angwafo III was the Vice President of the CPDM to President Paul Biya, a position he held from 2011 to 2022.
Several speakers including the city Mayor of Bamenda used the Nikwi (official celebration of the life of the departed Fon) to call for unity, forgiveness and tolerance.
Paul Achombang noted that the old has gone and the New has come. "Shun hate and barrier and return home let's together develop Mankon." He noted.
The Nikwi will run from 15th December to 15th January.
