Bamenda II Council celebrates achievements at Midterm session

The Mayor of Bamenda II Council, Peter Chenwi says more than 75% of projects earmarked for 2022 have been realized by the council. This was during the midterm Evaluation session of the council that held Friday September 23, 2022 in Bamenda.

Assistance to Persons with Disabilities, donation of Didactics to learners, Destribution of equipment to Integrated Health Centers, Extension of the Ntankah Integrated Health Center, Visit to the Disarmament Center, Purchase of a front head loader and truck, Construction of a Bridge in Fowah Mbatu, Assistance to schools, Construction of a Multipurpose Hall in Ntambag, Rehabilitation of Akumlam Integrated Health Center and the
Bamenda II Health District, Road Maintenance, construction of a Vertinary zoo-technical centre in chomba, assistance to bike riders to help send their children to school amongst others are some of the areas the Mayor said the council has made its presence felt.

Mayor Chenwi said the level of  project realization in the municipality which stands at 75% is thanks to the collaboration and relentless efforts of the councillors and security forces in restoring peace and tranquillity in the area. 

We are at 75% realization rate in terms of our projects envisaged and before the end of the year we must have attained a greater rate. Formerly we had a lot of challenges faced from separatist fighters. I want to thank defense and security forces who have been helping us realize our projects. Mayor Chenwi Peter hinted.

During the session, Councillors adopted some six deliberations to help the council achieve its objectives which includes recruitment of front head Loader operator for the heavy duty truck purchased by the council, to Install solar energy to some health centrés especially Ntanka to help save lives and the Change of Bamenda II Council logo to stop the circulation of fake documents in the name of the council. 

The SDO’s representative in her closing remarks applauded the activities of the council in terms of developmental projects carried out by the council. She Appealed with all councillors to sensitize their communities on the importance of peace for the sake of development . She equally invited ex-combatants of Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) CENTRE Bamenda, were urged to sensitize their peers still in the bushes to drop their arms and join them in the center.
