After good deeds, Persons with Disabilities reward Mayor Chenwi Peter

Persons with Disabilities in the Bamenda II Council area have applauded the good works of the Mayor of Bamenda II subdivision.

Under the auspices of Ndalle Richard, a person with mobility impairment, they congratulated the Mayor for standing by them in this period of crises.

Mayor Peter Chenwi as recounted by the PWDs has handed white canes, braille papers and writing materials for the visually impaired, walking tools to those with mobility impairment and lots of encouragement to those with downsyndrome.

A move the Persons with disabilities say cannot go unappreciated. They presented a frame with worlds of encouragement and called on the Mayor to not relent in supporting them and other people especially internally Displaced persons in his council area.



Their word of thanks referred to the Mayor as "The Jesus Christ of Bamenda, the Elijah of our time" recalling the previous outings of Mayor to pay bills at the Bamenda Regional Hospital, providing start up Capital to IDPs, supporting Muslims with food items during Ramadan and constructing boreholes to some quarters in his municipality.

This recent recognition which came Friday 9th September 2022, was on the hills of numerous awards backed by the Mayor since elected into office in 2020.

While receiving the award, the Mayor praised the PWDs for haven been exemplary throughout the crisis and handed to them, didactic material for the new academic year.
