Mayor of Bafut at FEICOM AWARDS


The Municipality of Bafut have emerge as over all best council in the implementation of public investment projects for 2021.

This was revealed at an award ceremony organized by the council support fund for mutual assistance, FEICOM at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel.

The December 3rd,2021 event saw the Minister of Decentralisation and Local Development, Georges Elanga Obam congratulate the Mayor of Bafut for an incredible job done in 2021 to realise projects to the tube of 97.3%.

The council successfully implemented 7 projects in five communities at the cost of 188,159, 983 francs.

This means the council has gained 4 places in the FEICOM rankings. From 5th last year to overall best this year.

The council area that has an epicenter in the ongoing socio-political crisis in the North West region could only have arrived here thanks to tactful management from the council executive led by Ngwakongoh Lawrence.

Quizzed on how he managed to achieved this, the Mayor noted that "I decided to transform council projects to village development projects placed under the auspices of development associations in the various villages." Mayor Ngwakongoh said.

Villagers have moved on more than one occasion with gifts to thank the Mayor for focusing his attention on the their communities.

Mayor Ngwakongoh at every stop has not failed to remind them that the council is there for development and and will not relent to come to their aid.

The realizations of these projects that span from bridges to buildings and several supplies to the various health centres and schools in Bafut could not have been achieved without contractors who are determined.

The Mayor Salutes their courage and also applauds the population for giving value to their projects as they're the first beneficiary.

Though the council is yet to collect taxes in the municipality as the crisis goes on, they're resolved to making the council area enviable in the region
