Bamenda City Council: Pioneer Female SG installed



Madam Suly Kwatila Annabela Epse Dzevesen with her husband 


The first ever female Secretary General of the Bamenda City Council and first ever female city council SG in Cameroon, Suly Kwatila Annabela Epse Dzevesen has been installed.

The graduate from ENAM will oversee the administrative management of the staff of the Bemenda City Council going forward. 

While installing her into her functions, Mezam SDO, Simon Emile Mooh, encouraged her to ensure that she implements the decisions of the deliberative organ of the council in strict compliance with the law.

In his welcome address, the City Mayor to the Bamenda City Council, Paul Achobong enumerated ongoing projects in the council area.

The reconstruction of roads in the urban perimeter of Bamenda and acquisition of new buses to facilitate the transportation of persons within Bamenda

"The President of the Republic has handed to us the sum of 100 million to help us acquire 3 brand new 30 seater buses. Since the restriction of bikes at the city center and the administrative Centre, we discovered that movement of people has become difficult."

"Our target is acquire three new buses and the amount might not be sufficient. We are seeking other avenues to get them delivered" Paul Achobong told the guest

Madam Suly Kwatila Annabela, holder of a Bachelor's Degree in public administration was born on December 23, 1979 in Shishong, Bui Division and before her appointment was Head of Division for logistics at the Ministry of Decentralisation. She takes over from Mbah-Mbole Pius who has been appointed North West Regional Delegate of Decentralisation and local Development, MINDDEVEL.

Outstanding workers recognized 

He spent 1 year, 10 months as SG of the City Council and was saluted by the administration for a job well done.

The installation of the new SG saw the recognition of some 10 outstanding staff of the council who distinguished themselves in their various functions. A move greeted by North West Governor Adolphe Lele LAfrique. The Governor also suggested that these workers should be proposed for National honours.

New cars acquired to facilitate service delivery 

As the staff representatives danced to the rhythm of the coming of a new SG, Bamenda City Mayor presented three newly acquired 2020 model vehicles to the population. Since his election in February 2020, he has been using his private car to run the affairs of the council while the Hilux pickups will be used by the technical services

The Installation was done Wednesday May 5, 2021 at the council esplanade
